MT. Apo Sunset: A Glimpse of Eternity

Conquering the Philippine Highest Peak-Mt. Apo

Members of different mountaineering clubs from different places in the Philippines enthusiastically trek on rough and highly inclined (some parts are actually almost vertical) trails of Mt. Apo as they strive to reach the summit that has an elevation of 9,692 feet (2,954 meters) above sea level (highest peak in the Philippines). This physically, emotionally, mentally challenging activity has become an annual tradition by a number of extreme-sports enthusiasts ( local and foreign) that is usually happening during summer particularly in the Lenten season.

Below, Jay Ian Bello, the youngest member of Mars Agri-Ventures & Commodities, Inc. team, delivers a bright smile that seems to be telling he is proud being assigned to manage one of the most important things to consider in Mt. Apo expedition--maintaining cleanliness. He takes full-responsibility for the trashes from their team--non-biodegradable wastes are collected and brought back down for proper disposal to avoid the spot from polluting.

Enduring a very rocky-rough trail as they come closer and closer to the summit...
